There is a term called “ Beginners Luck”. That certainly applies to me. Yes,I am talking about my first job as a Content Executive at weDevs. 

I never imagined that I will be starting my first job in such a great environment with an excellent team leader along with some wonderful colleagues. Today I am going to let you in on the journey I had so far as part of weDevs. 

How It All Started

I was at the end of my student life and I was thinking about applying for jobs and internships. I was looking through Facebook, Linkedin, and other job sites to land the perfect job for me. 

Fortunately one day, a friend of mine mentioned me in a job circular. weDevs was looking for a content writer. I hesitated at first as I didn’t have any previous experience. But, “ It will be a good experience and let’s try out my skill” with that thought I applied. 

I thought with my experience, they wouldn’t call me. But they did (much to my surprise!). So, I went for the interview. Let me remind you it was the very first job interview of my life. 

weDevs has a tough screening process. You have to pass viva’s, written exams. While giving these tests, I thought even if I don’t get the job, this experience will come in handy in the future. 

So, I did my best and finished my interviews. There were few experienced people that went with me for the interview. I knew my chances were slim. So, I didn’t raise any expectations and was thankful that I even got the call for the interview.

After 2-3 weeks, one afternoon, I get a call from the HR department. They want me to come in for one last interview. I was shocked and excited at the same time. 

I went the next day and had to wait for quite a while before my turn came. Let me tell you,that wait was the longest wait of my life. Finally, I was called in. That was the first time I got to see the whole office. And my first thought was, it would be great if I can start my career here.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. The interview was with the CEO and CTO. When I heard that, I thought I was done. What would they askme and what would I answer them.

But thankfully that wasn’t the case. They were so friendly and made me feel comfortable.It felt like I was just having a casual chat. They offered me the job and I gladly accepted. 

That’s how my life at the weDevs started. 

My first Day 

I was late for my first day at the office. 

Yes. I had an urgent presentation at the University. So, I came in late and missed the better part of the orientation.That was unfortunate. 

Then they showed me where I will sit and also introduced me to my team lead. He then introduced me to my teammates and also gave me an idea of what I need to do. 

Everyday is a Surprise

So far I have enjoyed my time at weDevs. Although there is a lot of work pressure. But when you get wonderful colleagues and a great team lead, work becomes fun. Yes, there is a lot of experiences of mine in this short period. 

But I will share them some other time. Otherwise you will all get bored.
